IFCCI 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM)
IFCCI’s 49th AGM brought together 400+ leaders to explore how innovation, AI and GCCs are shaping the future of India-France business ties
The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) convened its 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, in the presence of H.E. Mr Philippe Baptiste, French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Space, Government of France and H.E. Mr Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India.
Held under the theme “Driving Innovation for Global Impact” at the St. Regis Hotel, the AGM brought together more than 400 senior business leaders, government officials and diplomats to discuss how innovation and Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are reshaping the economic ties between the two countries.
H.E. Mr Philippe Baptiste, French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Space, highlighted the growing momentum in India-France cooperation, with key initiatives including the Indo-French Centre for AI in Health at AIIMS, New Delhi, and new dual-degree and joint research programmes between Paris-Saclay University and IIT Bombay. He also emphasised the Special Global Strategic Partnership and the shared ambition to advance sovereign innovation in areas such as climate change, healthcare and digital security.
H.E. Mr Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, highlighted the expanding India-France economic partnership, driven by innovation, technology and entrepreneurship. He noted growing collaboration between businesses across sectors including advanced manufacturing, energy, technology and services, with a strong focus on co-development and joint solutions. He also emphasised the potential of the upcoming EU-India FTA to create new opportunities and further strengthen bilateral economic ties.

Setting the context, Ravin Mirchandani, Ador Powertron, highlighted global shifts across geopolitics, supply chains, technology, energy and AI, and the opportunity for India and France to co-create products, technologies and solutions for global markets.

Moderated by Mr. Manoj Gidwani, Nexdigm, the panel explored how AI, technology, R&D, supply chains and industrial innovation are reshaping global business – and India’s opportunity to innovate and scale for the world.

Launch of the IFCCI Activity Report 2025–26
The AGM also marked the launch of IFCCI’s Activity Report 2025–26, highlighting the Chamber’s key initiatives, milestones and contributions to strengthening Indo-French business relations.
