French Delegation On Investment Visit To AP

Amaravati: A high-level delegation of industry captains from France has decided make investments in Andhra Pradesh by joining hands with the state government in different sectors such as power generation, building materials, smart cities and urban development.

The delegation comprises of 13 members from MEDEF, a leading network of businesses in France, officials from French consulate and embassy, and representatives from AfD (Agence Française de Développement).

The French Development Agency started its two-day visit to the state on Wednesday.

The team which made a field inspection by visiting Krishna district dairy and Vijayawada Thermal Power Station (NTTPS) during the first session held detailed discussions with the government representatives and industry executives in the evening.

Finance minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu, energy minister Srinivasa Reddy, additional chief secretary in CMO, Dr PV Ramesh explained the advantages of investing in AP.

Finance minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said that the state has infrastructural synergies, excellent local population that is adaptive, friendly and works towards common interest of the state. He also said that they were planning to extend full support to MSME parks to provide fillip to semi urban centres.

Agriculture minister Kannababu welcomed investments in agriculture, food processing, cold chains and warehousing. The delegation will meet chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy today.
