IFCCI successfully organised the 3rd edition of the Indo-French Health & Life Sciences Seminar in Hyderabad on 12th September 2025.

The event began with a networking breakfast, followed by a warm welcome note by Mr. Priyank Prakash, Senior Manager Advocacy, IFCCI. In his special address, Mr. Marc Lamy, Consul General of France in Bangalore, highlighted Aurobindo Pharma’s growing presence in France, along with the strong French presence in India through companies like Sanofi and SGD Pharma, and emphasized the robust R&D collaborations between the two countries with academia and research centres.

The keynote address by Mr. Raja Bhanu, Director General, Pharmexcil, underlined India’s global healthcare leadership and the Indo-French partnership driving innovation and affordable solutions, positioning the seminar as a valuable platform for deeper collaborations.

Among other key discussion points, a few highlighted ones being:

The first panel on “AI-Driven Innovation & the Rise of GCCs: Shaping the Future of Health & Life Sciences” brought out key perspectives: Mr. Makarand Kulkarni (Opella) as GCC driven by speed, bottom-up innovation, and strong talent pools, with AI enhancing employee experience, integrating functions, and transforming management processes. Ms. Rama Devi Lanka (Government of Telangana) cited Telangana’s health data platform with 70+ startup contributions and proposed a national list of GCC challenges. while Mr. Parameshwar Sitaram, (Sanofi India) underlined the importance of AI solutions for rare diseases and the value of collaborative work with R&D institutes and organisations. The discussion was expertly moderated by Ms. Rashmi Pimpale, (Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH).

The second panel, was skillfully moderated by Ms. Sanjam Arora (Trilegal), highlighted the depth of Strengthening Indo-French Synergies: Advancing Health & Life Sciences Manufacturing in India. Ms. Rachana Tripathi (Huwel Lifesciences) highlighted the company’s seven-year collaboration with Biomérieux, centered on quality and control centers. Mr. Deepak Sood (SGD Pharma) announced the new investments in primary glass packaging inauguration scheduled in September 2025, and urged stronger dialogue with authorities. Mr. Dilip Peswani (Servier India) underlined Servier’s 40+ year presence in India, expertise in cardiology and diabetes, and the country’s growing role as an innovation hub. Mr. Pratik Bhide (Urgo Medical India) noted that collagen particles produced locally are now exported to France, signaling deeper value chain integration. Mr. Varun Mali (Aurobindo Pharma) emphasized the company’s expansion in France with a logistics hub in Lyon, marking a strategic move to diversify beyond its 50% U.S.-driven revenues.

The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Nakul Dalwala, Manager – Events & Membership, IFCCI, reinforcing IFCCI’s commitment to fostering Indo-French collaborations in healthcare and life sciences.
