IFCCI Union Budget Session 2026: Analysis & Impact | Bangalore
IFCCI, in association with EY organised its Annual Union Budget Seminar 2026 at the Consulate General of France in Bangalore.
The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) had the pleasure of hosting the IFCCI Union Budget Session 2026 on 5th February 2026 at the Consulate General of France in Bangalore, in collaboration with EY. The session brought together members of the Indo-French business community to gain insights into the key announcements of the Union Budget and discuss their implications for businesses operating in India.
The session commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Marc Lamy, Consul General of France in Bangalore, followed by Mr. Yohann Samuel, Regional Director – South, IFCCI, who set the context for the discussions around the newly announced Union Budget.

The speakers provided a comprehensive overview of the budget backdrop and key policy announcements, including tax reforms, measures aimed at attracting global investment, developments in capital gains and securities markets, as well as updates on customs and GST proposals.
The discussion also explored the progress of the EU–India Free Trade Agreement (FTA), highlighting its objectives and potential implications for bilateral trade and investment. Key elements of the agreement, including trade in goods and services, digital trade, and the evolving regulatory landscape, were discussed in the context of strengthening the EU–India economic corridor.
In addition, the session addressed the practical implications of the new labour codes for businesses, focusing on aspects such as the consolidation of existing labour laws, employee benefits and compliance requirements, distinctions between employees and workers, and the broader impact on workforce management and organisational practices.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, providing participants with the opportunity to interact with the EY experts and exchange perspectives on the evolving policy landscape.
