The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI), on the 20th of March 2024, successfully conducted the 3rd edition of the Indo-French Industries Meet in Hyderabad. This event served as an exemplary platform for industry leaders representing Indian and French companies, to showcase the strength of Indo-French partnerships across diverse sectors in the country.
The event commenced with a networking breakfast, laying the foundation for a day filled with informative discussions and productive exchanges. Mr. Priyank Prakash, Senior Manager - Events & Membership [KA, TS & AP Regions] at IFCCI, commenced the proceedings with a warm welcome, followed by a special address from the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Thierry Berthelot, Consul General of France in Bangalore. Mr. Berthelot spoke about the strong Indo-French ties on the commercial side, along with highlighting the various strong partnerships set as part of the strategic partnership between India and France. He also announced the opening of the new office of the Consulate General in Hyderabad – The Bureau de France, based out of T-Hub and introduced his colleagues based out of Hyderabad.
Succeeding this, Mr. Karthikeyan Natrajan, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer of Cyient, delivered the keynote address highlighting the strong Indo-French partnerships across Industries, the potential of India as is poised to be the next big market and attracting attention globally and Cyient – as a homegrown company from India, involved in various industries and having expanded to various countries around the world including France, as an important destination giving access to Europe.
Thereafter, the knowledge sessions commenced with the first panel discussion on "Shaping the Future of Manufacturing". This was moderated by Mr. Alex T Koshy, Director - India Entry, M&A at SAS Partners and brought together distinguished speakers, including Mr. Bala Kotaiah, Associate Vice President, Quality at SGD Pharma; Mr. Gerard Inizan, Managing Director at Safran Aircraft Engines; and Mr. Germain Araud, Managing Director at Monin India, who shared invaluable insights into international manufacturing practices, their alignment with global demands and their investments and expansions into the state of Telangana.
Following this engaging discussion, a Fireside chat was conducted on "Ways to Improve Sustainable Practices". The moderator to this discussion was Ms. Shanthala Veigas, Associate Director- Strategy at WE Hub, a Govt. of Telangana Initiative. The speakers included Ms. Sheilaja Raje Singh, SHEQ & Sustainability Director, Veolia India, and Mr. Siva Muthu Kumar, Vice President - BD Head (South Region), Indian Energy Exchange, who showcased their expertise and shared knowledge on waste management and renewable energy from an industry standpoint, underscoring the significance of sustainable practices, especially now and for the future.
The second Fireside chat and final discussion was on "Indo-French Innovation and Emerging Trends" that was once again moderated by Mr. Alex T Koshy, Director - India Entry, M&A at SAS Partners, and featured panelists Retd. Wing Commander Anish Anthony, Chief Operating Officer at T-Hub, and Mr. Raghunandan Hanumanthu, VP & Head Life Sciences Industry Platform at Capgemini, who shared insights into the importance and availability of a skilled workforce in India, corporate innovation programs and the pivotal role of incubators in driving technological advancements.
The 3rd edition of the Indo-French Industries Meet brought together over 120 senior executives from the Indo-French business community from IFCCI's pan-India network, fostering collaboration and catalysing innovation.
The session concluded with a thank-you note extended by Mr. Nakul R. Dalwala, Assistant Manager of Events & Membership at IFCCI, expressing gratitude to all participants, speakers, special guests, and sponsors whose support contributed to the success of this event.
