For the first time in France, a business school will actively participate in the design and management of a degree in engineering, one of the most prestigious and influential degrees in France. The degree, which takes its first students in the next academic year, is open to working professionals with a Bachelors degree and with at least three years professional experience.
The degree will be delivered by Grenoble Institute of Technology (GIT) in partnership with Grenoble Ecole de Management and will focus on Management Technology, Grenoble’s key area of expertise.
Often described as the Alpine Silicon Valley of Europe, Grenoble is a hotbed of technology and its institutions including Grenoble Ecole de Management and GIT play an active role in this dynamic and high-tech environment. Both schools have been joining their forces for over 20 years by developing together many other executive education training and research programmes.
Thierry Grange, Dean of Grenoble Ecole de Management, said: “Both Grenoble Ecole de Management and Grenoble Institute of Technology share the same mission: that of assisting businesses in providing them with highly demanded skills and knowledge. This is why we have jointly developed innovative training programmes adapted to the needs of businesses and of their employees. Through this new engineering degree we aim continue to actively participate to the national and international economic environment. With its specificity in Management Technology, the degree could have only originated in Grenoble, renowned for its expertise in such field.”
Paul Jacquet, President of Grenoble Institute of Technology said: “This new degree marks over 20 years of collaboration with Grenoble Ecole de Management. With it, we pave the way towards the creation of new engineering degrees, associating the science of engineering with that of business. This engineering degree in Management Technology is a truly innovative concept and a first in France, that we are proud to have established alongside Grenoble Ecole de Management.
