Mr Pierre-Jean Bonnat, Joint Secretary General, IFCCI, was invited to participate in this India related event at Saint Denis, Reunion.

The visit has been a great success and exceeded expectations. The IFCCI was given good exposure on its services. The local FR3 channel (TV) covered the event.

Presentations made( India and Gujarat ) were much appreciated. There were around 80 participants - a full house and the offer for co-operation was timely.

The Reunion Island development agency and the IFCCI will work hand in hand to look at areas of potential for joint co-operation. A start in this direction is expecxted in the area of tourism. The plan is for the Reunion to chalk out a tourist package with Mauritius and make use of their direct flight connections with India ; the IFCCI in turn would take care of identifying the proper tour operators. The target would be 15,000 tourists per year.
