I’m glad that I have had the chance
Over the years to work with France.
With IFTA in technology
A field, in which as all can see
France has so much to contribute,
We’d love to see a TGV route
Linking all our major cities
Inaugurated by lively ditties
That I would be pleased to compose!
Just don’t ask me to speak in prose.
And if the Communists relent
A delegation can be sent
As required to IAEA.
And hopefully we’ll see the day
When French reactors give us power
And no longer do we have to cower
At every rise in the price of oil,
Which always causes much turmoil.
France can help us in our mission
To master peaceful nuclear fission.
But France is also home to ITER.
With cooperation, that is much tighter,
We can transcend Green House confusion
By moving on to Nuclear fusion!
Together we can join the race
To achieve much more in aerospace.
From French fields to Indian farms
We can bring technology and charms.
But France has many other parts
Like language, literature and arts.
And thanks to my role at Alliance
I also saw this face of France.
To Bombay’s life we can add much
That je ne sais quoi, that French touch!
Next April when the weather’s estival
You can stay cool with our French Festival.
As we all know France is strong
In music, food, wine and song!
But relationships must be made
As well in Industry and Trade!
Trade of course is on the rise
But I would think the present size |
Of the investment, in and out,
Should leave us all with a slight doubt,
That though the task is well begun
There is much more, still to be done.
I would like to salute Arun
I feel he left far too soon.
But he will play a major role
And see to it we reach our goal.
Of course it is only fair
That now we have a Frenchman there
Who better than M. Philibert?
We sincerely hope that with great care
Investments take a giant leap
And the rising curve of trade is steep.
Thirty years have now gone by
In a wink they seemed to fly!
What we’ve achieved has been great
And indeed we should celebrate.
But we should note there is much change
That extends across the range.
We spoke of IFCCI’s President
But the powers that be and fate have sent
A new CG and trade commissioner,
And Jérôme as our ambassador.
And back in France the big election
Led to the excellent selection
Of M. Nicolas Sarkozy.
Relations should get much more cosy.
And India should be the port of call
For French firms both big and small.
And Vijay Mallya showed the way
By buying Bouvet-Ladubay.
And if France opens up the doors
We could have far more Arcelors!
And we could quickly grow the flow
Of both IT and BPO!
Our 30 years we can cheer
But our real aim is to steer
IFCCI to new and glorious heights!
This goal is well within our sights.
Today let us launch the lance,
We will prevail! Jai Hind! Vive la France! |
